The Copenhagen Towers went to Vejle, to face the Razorbacks, in an already thrilling game. The winner would play in the Mermaid Bowl.

The Razorbacks could be the first team in Danish history, to play the Mermaid Bowl 6 years in a row. The team from the capital could play their Mermaid Bowl number 7 since 1989. The game ended in a disappointing defeat, Triangle Razorbacks won 23-13.

Towers president Martin Ægidius has announced that the Towers have already secured that QB JR Artozqui will be back in purple in 2012. The popular QB signed a contract for the 2012 season earlier this week.

 

The Towers knew that the success that Artozqui – and the Towers – has enjoyed the past two seasons would make him a hot commodity among football organizations all over Europe.

Therefore it was imperative for the organization to make sure that Artozqui never hit the free market.

A toothless flock of Tigers saw their season end at Gentofte Stadium courtesy of a 31-0 Towers win in the wild card round of the 2011 play-offs.

 

The Towers came off a convincing win against the Herlev Rebels in the last game of the regular season and showed no sign of letting up in the play-offs. The team rolled to 24 unanswered first half points and added another 7 in the second.

On Saturday the Towers went to Herlev to play the Rebels in a game to determine home field advantage in the wild-card round of the playoffs. Although the first meeting in April had been a clear Towers win, the Rebels’ recent improvement suggested that this game would be closer. It turned out that it was – for a while.
