The Copenhagen Towers went to Vejle, to face the Razorbacks, in an already thrilling game. The winner would play in the Mermaid Bowl.

The Razorbacks could be the first team in Danish history, to play the Mermaid Bowl 6 years in a row. The team from the capital could play their Mermaid Bowl number 7 since 1989. The game ended in a disappointing defeat, Triangle Razorbacks won 23-13.

  

 The game was defensive dominated, the most of the game, and on Razorbacks very first play of the match, was an Interception by Safety Magnus Bitsch, and Towers had a first down on Razorbacks 15 yard-line. After 2 good throws by QB Artozqui, Towers had a first down again, on the 1 yard-line. JR Artozqui sneaked the ball, and went for a touchdown, after a well executed offensive drive. Towers kept the momentum; on the kickoff return they stopped Razorbacks returner on his own 8 yard-line. After a 7-minute drive, the Razorbacks put 7 points on the board. Towers went 3-and-out, and Razorbacks now showed their force to use their first downs, and converted 4 first downs in a row. But Towers defense held them, inside the redzone, and they only put 3 points on the board. Score at the end of first quarter was 10-7.

Right after the quarter, JR Artozqui stepped up, and threw a 60-yard pass to WR William Elias, who was tackled inside the 10. But the Razorbacks had a big defensive hold, and Kicker Heinz Quast was sent on the field. He missed the FG, wide right. The Razorbacks scored a Field Goal, 45 seconds before the half.

Towers received the ball in the second half, and on the second play, Casper Jensen had a big run, where he caught the defense off guard. Jensen also ended the drive by another big run. The game was now tied at 13, which also is the score in the end of the third quarter.

With 10 minutes left of the semifinal, Razorback Quarterback threw a short TD, the score was now 20-13. Artozqui and Elias had a good connection, and completed 2 great plays in a row. Artozqui tried to go deep, but was picked off, on the 10 yard-line. But the Towers offense didn’t stay on the sideline for a long time; the very next play was an interception, by team captain Frederik Ægidius. Towers fumbled the ball in their own redzone, and Razorbacks scored a field goal. 23-13, with 2:50 left. On the next offensive drive, Towers failed to convert a fourth down, right before 2 Minute Warning. Razorback kneeled, and the game was over. A very emotional season is over, but the goal for 2012 is clear: Mermaid Bowl.
