More coaches added PDF Print E-mail

Jens BoA week after the announcement of the cornerstones of the coaching staff in William Miller and J.R. Artozqui, two more coaches have committed to pitching in for the 2010 season.

Hall of Fame WR Jens Bo Fraek will be coaching the receivers, and LB coach Peter Bech Andersen will work as Miller's right hand man on defense.

Fraek has had a long and glorious career as a player, and after a lay-off where he was inducted to the DAFF hall of fame, he came back to the Towers in 2008. Realizing his playing days could not go on for ever he became more involved with teaching his fellow WRs, and also went on a learning trip with then-coach Anders Munch to Dallas and Southern Methodist University, where June Jones is running the famous Mouse Davis run and shoot offense.

This 1-RB offense is obviously very dependent on the production of the receivers, and a lot of information was taken in. The WRs this year will be especially important given the arrival of Artozqui, which should mean more focus given to the passing offense. Most of the current WRs are young and will surely benefit from the counsel of the experienced Fraek.

Peter Bech AndersenAndersen is a former player who, due to injuries had to stop playing at only 21. He re-joined the Towers last year as a coach. His role was not as well defined with defensive coordinator Mats Eriksson and defensive coach Rob Scotland, already in place, but he was able to pick up a lot of useful knowledge from the two competent coaches. He is no stranger to teaching and leading as he has the experience of being a non-commissioned officer in Iraq, where one of his jobs was leading the construction of schools. He is very excited to be on the new coaching staff and learn from a man as qualified as William Miller.

The addition of more coaches is expected over the coming weeks, so check back for more news.
